Study on Relationships among Care Givers’ Job-Relation Feature, the Attitude Toward Dementia and Confidence of Dementia Care

Abstract
|

|
The purpose of this study is to define relationships among care givers’Job-Relation Feature, the Attitude Toward Dementia and Confidence of dementia care. The Data of a investigation of perception on Dementia in Kyounggi province was used and 870 cases were analysed. The data analysis was done by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, pearson product moment correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows:
The mean of Confidence of dementia care was 6.00 out of 10.00 and the mean of Confidence of dementia care of care workers’was highest(6.65 out of 10.00). The influencing factors for Confidence of dementia care were hours of education about Dementia, work experiences at Dementia Facilities, occupational therapist and emotional attitude toward dementia. And hours of Education is the most influential factor affecting Confidence of dementia care. On th basis of these results, it is necessary for care givers to provide continuing education and raise awareness about dementia.
